Inside my sake class

Inside my sake class

Sake course with Laneway Learning I just ran my first short sake course via the Laneway Learning teaching platform. Laneway Learning is a funky Sydney company whose motto is cheap, fun classes on anything and everything. What’s more fun than drinking sake? I won’t say what exactly the students learnt and drank as I will run the class for the second time, and would like to keep things a (hopefully delightful) suprise.  But I will say one thing –  my objective is to have you buying and ordering sake without fear. There is a system, and I will teach you!  The system involves understanding sake grades, types and reading the labels without knowing any Japanese. It is possible! Meanwhile, there are a few pics from the class….             A few more details This was my first class and it went, in my humble opinion, extremely well. It was so great to see people discover that sake can be delicious and infinitely drinkable. I have such respect for the sake industry and the dedication of the brewers to their complex and demanding craft. The more people I can convince to drink sake, the better the future of the Japanese sake industry will be.  I would like to thank a few people who helped me made it happen! Laneway Learning for their professionalism and the cool Surry Hills venue (Cowbell 808) Chef’s Armoury and Annandale Cellars for helping me serve delicious sake to students. Studio So Photography and Design for their beautiful photos! And finally, a massive thank to my students for being such a curious and delightful bunch! I hope you continue your exploration of sake. If you have any questions – anything at all –  send me a note via this website. Kampai!...
