Dear lovers of sake, and sake-curious!
Following the sellout success of the first in-depth Sake Masterclass, I will be running another sake workshop.
Join me in exploring this wonderful, complex and surprising drink. I promise you will fall in love with it.
My job is to completely demystify sake. Not sure what to select? Can’t read the labels? Hot or cold? All questions will be answered. I will give you a simple, step-by-step system on selecting sake, to ensure your every drinking experience is a great one.
A fun, interactive masterclass will cover:
– Sake brewing process
– Grades and types
– Sake storage and serving
– Regionality of sake
– Chemistry of taste
This workshop will have a particular focus on tasting distinctions between grades and types. “Vertical tasting”, or sampling different grades of sake from the same brand, is a rare opportunity to really “get” the sake fundamentals.
The price of the workshop includes finger food (enough to make you skip lunch) from the delectable More Please! kitchen, at least 8 varieties of sake, and take-home book of notes.
Any questions? Please email slava “at” sakeguide.com.au or get in touch via the contact form.
About the teacher
Slava holds the Certified Sake Professional qualification from the Sake Education Council. She studied sake with the world’s foremost sake expert John Gaunter in Japan and toured sake breweries. She has travelled in Japan extensively all her life, with the first trip being at the age of 14. If there is something she doesn’t know about Japan, it is probably not worth knowing.
